Bioplastics
Casein Bioplastic — Casein, Bioplastic Grade U
Casein Bioplastic U is produced from casein, the primary protein found in milk, by reacting it with formaldehyde or glutaraldehyde for cross-linking. It forms rigid, opaque materials that can be molded or extruded, and it is biodegradable. Historically used for buttons and decorative items, it's seeing renewed interest for specific biodegradable packaging applications.
